Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI)
You might not have to pay out of pocket. Let's work together to find out!
What is CDHCI ?
CDHCI is an AHS home-care funding program. If you qualify, AHS approves you for certain hours and types of support, and you can choose an agency like us to provide the care. Alberta Blue Cross handles the invoicing, so if you’re approved, your services may be covered based on the hours and services AHS authorizes. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to get approved!
-
Call AHS Home Care at (780) 496-1300, for an assessment (Edmonton zone).
When you call, you can say:
“Hi, I’m calling to request a Home Care assessment and ask about CDHCI (Client Directed Home Care Invoicing).”
- If you can’t get through or need general help, Alberta also says you can start by calling 811 (Health Link) to arrange an assessment. -
Complete the AHS assessment.
AHS will decide if you’re eligible based on your care needs. -
Get your approval details (if approved).
Ask AHS/your case manager for your authorized hours and approved service types. -
Choose Sunrise Companionship as your provider.
Tell your case manager you want Sunrise Companionship to provide the services. -
Send us your CDHCI billing info.
We’ll confirm what’s authorized and set up direct billing through Alberta Blue Cross. -
Start care.
Visits begin based on your approved hours and schedule.
